For those who don't follow what flat flight is.... Most people will determine flat flight as the distance that an arrow will travel before falling out of the sight pins point of aim. The true flat flight determination is done by shooting at a horizontal line on a target face and walking back until the arrow falls below that line. For the discussion here....lets start with the latter definition as it applies to the horizontal line. Not only am I interested in what people are shooting but I also want to take this into a discussion after gathering the facts. Thanks for the information

I honestly don't know with this new set up of mine. I never checked it before going to the sitka shafts either. It was in the 25 yard range and thats where I had the first pin.....but I never shot a horizontal line to know just where the drop began. This coming week (after I get the target path shoveled out) I will check and then start playing with it some more.

With my set up and shooting a single pin sight, I can shoot out to 30 yds. with out compensating. HCA Power Force 70# DW 30" DL, Easton 2413's 29" w/ 100 gr. heads @270 fps.

Is that holding dead on the mark from 0 - 30 yards?. What size pins do you have on your sight?. The reason I ask is because I meant for this thread to go somewhere....other than to the thread grave. I was going to make a point as to how someone could increase range without adding pins.

When I go to the woods, I lock it down on the 30 yd. mark and leave it. I compensate for anything over 30 yds. I have a multi-pin sight and could hunt with it with two pins- one at 30 and one at 50.

You have one hell of a cast on that rig!. Of course, you are at 30" and that would certainly help keep that metal level. Pretty darn decent flight you got there...pretty darn good indeed! Have you done a down range calculation at 30 yards yet?. If so, what are you getting?.
