I haven't heard a thing about trophy ridge arrows to be perfectly honest. Where did you hear about them?

www.trophyridge.com/arrows/Got stuck in the store with the wife so I headed for the magazines. I think it was in "Bowhunter". The only down side to them as I see it so far is the insert, it's also an outsert/ Supposed to keep the shaft from mushrooming but makes pulling from targets difficult unless they're doing something about it somehow. Look at the straightness though.

This is a copy of the AFC shaft. I liked the AFC (at the time) but wouldn't use it today. Clubs (some) wouldn't let you shoot a 3-D course with the outserts because they wound (at times) pull off in the targets and the larger forward diameter would beat the targets up pretty bad. It's a good way to follow the taper shaft theory if you want to go down that road with a light shaft

Did the AFC have the specs this one has? 3 things I really like is the straightness, the finish and the weight. Wonder if the inserts have to be this kind? It's only a point problem. Broad heads are a non issue. Ya know how most things go. They look great in the advertising, but something about them makes you wonder if the creater is a hunter at all. These guys pushed 4 of my buttons so I'm think they just might be. I like duravanes. CX makes a good arrow in the maxima. The finish leaves me with that wondering feeling.

The crush is a very good spec. The AFC was like the Blast as far as spec. When Cabelas started selling the AFC shafts they dropped spec a bit , but not much. Dont know what they are now. I found the AFC to be nearly indestructible on impact with rocks and such. They were like a ugly stick as far as stress fractures went. I spine shot a Doe with an AFC while she was walking the slope of a hill. She fell and the steep slope rolled her once over......the arrow bent around her entire side as she flipped over and came to a stop.....the arrow was in perfect condition afterwards.

Arrows are getting ridiculous. I've seen some recently $300 and more. It's a conspiracy by easton to defeat the carbon makers and corner the aluminum market You know....it's getting to the point of where bows are so efficient....I might entertain the idea of going backwards to aluminum at some point Dont get me wrong ....carbon was a real value when it came to a damage comparison year back. That being said.....I could break 3 aluminium for every carbon shaft and be even Back in the day ( before I could hit everything I shot at ) carbon was a sound investment , today.....not so sound at all The carbon only holds one thing for me anymore and thats speed. Aside from speed....I really dont see an effective argument for carbon in my case.
