Yup, I got 'em This is where SL & I are at 40 yds pretty consistently. SL's arrows have the white raps.

You guys arent going to have any issues this year I was watching a good size Doe out in the field today while I was having my morning coffee. The upside of me working 7 days a week is that I havent been in the woods for months. I am expecting that the deer are going to be in shock when you all get down here

Well, SL and the family went off camping and no one else was available for shooting tonight so I decided to go and do a little shooting to work on some specific shots. Only shot for about 45 minutes and these are the typical results; Elevated about 8 feet and out at 24 yds Hard quarter away and slightly elevated at 23 yds Seated - Broadside at 25 yds Any comments would be appreciated especially regarding lethality or not of the shot placements.

On the hard quartering target you should try to hit a little lower. While most of those shots are fatal you would not have as good of a blood trail as you would with a lower exit. Also, watch out for the first arrow sucking the others to it. Though it is not intentional, your eye picks up the arrow already in the target and you end up shooting at it.

Yeah, I was thinking that those hard quartering away were a little high. My bow shoots an inch or so high at that distance and I didn't intentionally aim a little low. Thanks for the comment

Agreed that they are high from ground level but from an elevated stand, lets say 16' @ 16 yards....pretty good

It looks to me you are ready to go hunting. I will agree that you are a little high on the quartering away deer but if you are in a stand it might not be that bad.

Nicly done hopesman. I am planning on being there ..... Here on Thursday as long as football doesn't interfere again like it did tonight at the Archery group at the church. I only had time to go help Hopesman set up and then watch about 4 rounds of shooting and then back to the school.

I am afraid there were no pictures from last night but we did do some shooting and had some fun at it as well.
I got out my new arrows and checked the weight compared to the old arrows as far as grains per inch. Old 7.0 gr/in New 7.3 gr/in
Not much at all so I went out on a limb and cut the new arrows down to my 26.5 inch length (well only one to start) and shot it with the old to compare. The flight was as good if not better than the old arrows and just like Eastern said would happen the new arrows (Easton Epic ST) were averaging about 1 inch more penetration. Eastern tells me that is quite common with the slim Technology arrows. I even went out to 40 yards with the new arrows and I like what I saw. Cut the rest to length and all I have to do now is get the inserts in, wraps on and fletched and then I have a dozen hunting arrows.
I also took out one of my new 85 gr. Stingers (not much bigger than a bee stinger as well LOL) and pulled off a shot on the broad head target. Release, count 2 and 3, pull the bow down to reveal a bullseye shot at about 25 yards I think it was.
