Steve from Vaportrail sent me the entire system for the Kobalt last week and although I haven't been able to use the control harnesses due to timing issues , I have been able to put 100+ shots across the string.
Now....I cant speak to stretch because the cam 1/2 would eat up any visible stretch as it relates to visible movement and I am using a no-peep on this bow so I have nothing to work with
But ..... do I believe I have had any movement? .... no....but after 1000 shots , I will remove the string , put 100# on it and remeasure.
I did this prior to installation so any stretch and how much will be evident.

What do I notice so far? .... it is in better condition after 100 shots as compared to the winners choice.
Now I know that anyone would say something like..."you cant be serious!" .... but I am serious.
I am very anal about my strings and I am forever looking at them.
So far I have zero fraying in terms of that fuzz that starts showing up around the 100 shot mark when using the winners choice.

The string ( visually ) looks beefy in comparison to the W.C. but not as rope like as the Fuse.
I would say that is is similar to the Zebra but not as cheezy looking
The serving job is top notch .... better than W.C. seemingly.

Does this mean I am jumping on the Vapor band wagon? .... no...not yet.
It's gonna take 3000 rounds before I am able to get a very good read on this string but at this point in time I am impressed with what I see in relation to cost of the product.

Estimated 300 shots and no issues at all as of yet.
I have only applied one coat of venom so far whereas I had usually waxed my winners choice 3 times by now.

Kris...what were the timing issues with the cable? Nothing Vapor Trail could help you out with?

I cant get the Kobalt where I want it with these cables.
They are a tied in/ split yoke and by the time I get enough tension on the right side yoke , there is nothing left to play with.
If I attempt to twist up the cable to advance the timing , the tension goes up to the yoke and adds the twist there.
The only way I can be fixed is to untie the yoke , add the tension to the right side then reserve under tension.

When I need a new harness , I'll do that.....not now though.

I will say that I personally would have served the yoke lower....maybe 2.5"

I would bring it up with Vapor Trail. I bet they work with you.

Glad to hear you are having good luck BT. I got a set and with less than 40 shots the serving came loose on the cables. Gave them a call and talked to Jerod. He said to send them back and they would repair them. I couldnt do without strings and have never had a company work like this. I wasnt going to pay for another set with customer service like that so I ordered elsewhere. I liked the looks but not the customer service

Hmmmm....I sympathize with both you and they I think.
I assume that you were thinking that they should have sent you a set and then you could simply return the damage.
While I agree ..... I can see such a transaction being used to further thief by deception.

For example...whats to say that you want to rip them off for a set of new strings.
All you would have to do is say that you had a bad set , they would send you a new set and then you would have them for free.
Schrade did that with their knives for awhile and then they went out of business

While you and others may be very honest.....many more are not and would take advantage of such a return policy.

It's a crappy situation to be sure.

I have had problems with WC and a small string maker. The both asked for a credit card## that would be billed in case I didnt return the strings. I would of been fine with that and I would of still been a customer.

I know what your saying about the yoke, you would be better off with the floating yoke, like the stock Hoyt strings come with due to the extreme offset that the straight cable gaurd gives you.

The harnesses would be the real test, as you would be able to see the stretch, if any, in the cam timing.

If you put a peep on, you could get a good read on stretch as well, then take it back off when your satisfied with the results...JMHO.....

BTW...I am amazed at my WC setup....no piece of equipment has ever held up like they have to my abuse...I'm truly impressed by them, but if the Vapor Trails are cheaper in price to make a difference, and the same quality, I would give them a chance..
