Last week I ordered a couple of packs of the new Firenocks. I loved them last year, but was looking forward to these even more. No magnets to worry about! I called to place my order and mentioned that I was really looking forward to shooting the "A" model on my Beeman MFX Classics out of my longbow. I have never been able to find a reliable lighted nock to shoot on these arrows out of my trad gear. There just isn't a place for a magnet. Anyway, I was told that there was no guarantee the longbow would produce enough speed to light the nocks, but if you know me, money is only money and I like to play. I figured worst case scenario I would just give them to a buddy who shoots Axis on his compound.
Well, I got home from work monday night and the Firenocks were waiting there for me. It was too late to play with them, but I had time today. I didn't play with the "S" nocks I ordered for my compound, but I "had" to play with my longbow and see if it would activate my nocks. Boy did it! I shot for over an hour today and they worked flawlessly for every shot. I am so pumped to be able to hit the woods with lighted nocks for my trad gear this year. Sure it's not exactly traditional, but if it lets me see my hit better and recover my arrows after the hit or pass through, than I'm happy.
I'm not saying they will work with all trad bows, mine is a Super Shrew which is a hybrid, but in my case they work great! I'll be sure to give an update on how well the nocks work after a few months and after they zip through a dozen deer or so!
