As anyone can attest to (who has been to my house) I have a rats nest of briar's and brush everywhere but on the trails.
I stayed off the trails and picked my way as best I could through the length of the property and back again.
The quiver is so well tucked behind me, it was very hard to get anything to hit it
After awhile I decided to just make it get hit by bending back limbs, stepping into their path, turning slightly and then letting go.
After being beaten with what amounted to a cat of nine tails (other nature style) I can give a good report on just what is going on with this quiver.
First of all, with the cap left off, it does echo the impact of anything that thumps it.
With the cap pulled over the top, there is nearly no sound at all.
With the soft cap pushed down into the quiver there is no noise at all
I walked quickly and slowly and at all times, my coat and pants made more noise than did the quiver.
Here is what I did notice....
The quiver is right behind your ear and therefore transmits any sound right to you and it is amplified in that way.
To confirm this, I took the quiver off and held it out in front of me as I walked through one particularly nasty section and again, it made no more noise than did my coat as I passed.
The noise it did make was a higher pitch due to the fact that the quiver is rigid but the felt cover really knocks that down to nothing
I have to admit...you guys really got me worried there for a minute ;D
No problem...very nice
