My ripcord has approximately 2000 shots through it. About a month ago, I started to experience an increased number of flyers that I had no good explanation for (not even operator error ). The only thing I can think of is fletching contact-which I did not think could happen with this rest. Well, some lipstick on the edges of fletching told the tale . The feathers are hitting the rest's prongs. No amount of manipulation to the rest's position, cord length, or positioning of the football on the cable is helping. Did my rest just went kaput? Any suggestions or should I just be looking for another rest ASAP?

Have you tried putting a drop of oil or silicone on the moving parts? vCould be some dirt or dust in there.

Well, I took off the cover and discovered two small silver pieces of metal laying on top of the brass plunger beside the spring. Apparently, that was the spring catch. I kid you not it looks like aluminum foil. Guess I'm in the market for a new rest

No it doesn't... mine has to have quadruple that....I'm going to have to keep an eye on it........I see some erratic movement in my arrows every once in a while... Try emailing them...explain that you are on few forums (that's my MO) ..and maybe they will offer to fix it....doesn't hurt to try....

Doe girl - until you get in touch with 'em - try putting it back together (without the foil). The stop is very small spring underneath a brass square donut the actuator string goes thru. When the rest rotates far enough the donut is shoved up into the housing of the rest and locks in place. To drop at the shot tension is on the donut pulling it back down into the spring and past the stop. If need be I could pull one apart and take a pic of the guts.
I'm sure they will fix you up ... they have treated me well.

I'm sure they would like to know about this. I'm also sure they'd make it right for me. I, however, have had enough. With less than a month to go till the team hunt, I'm not gonna screw around (like I usually do ). This AM I made the trip to Cabelas to have a Trophy Taker Shaky Hunter installed and to buy some summer camo. I had a Trophy Taker on my old Hoyt, and I don't recall it given me too many problems.

If your arrows are grouping well, and they are flying straight...don't worry about contact...I go crazy with the lipstick, and the footpowder, but still get contact.....and arrows touching arrows at 60 yds.....JMHO..... Look at how nuts I can get,,,
