Howdy all. Was wondering if anyone has tried Blazers on 20" bolts. I was curious how they flew. Thanks. Joe

Hey there!..welcome Nope, I haven't personally but I would suggest that (provided the receiver is deep enough) they would work fine based on their mass index. Good question...I'd like to see some follow up on this one myself.

Thanks for the reply. I use them on my Gold Tips for my PSE Brute and like them I'm not sure how well they will work with the shorter bolt. I may have to clip the cock feather a little so it won't make contact with the "barrel". Joe

With a shorter projectile, I would assume (I hate doing it but I am gonna say assume ;D ) they world work as well, albeit the proportions are very different.

If you do end up modifying them....maybe you could snap a pic to show some of our other crossbow guys what you had to do?. That would be great

Most crossbow people that use blazers use 4 or 8 degrees of helix and increase the FOC.
Right now I shoot 4 inch straight vanes but plan to try 2 inch blazers this spring. I shoot excal and expect no problems with depth or width of the groove in the rail.

The 2" Blazer is a very popular fletching with the Excalibur shooters. I just changed my arrows over from the 5" Duravane to the 2" Blazer but I have not had a chance to shoot them yet. When it warms up some I will get them to the range. I fletch all my arrows with a 4 degree right offset. Even the 5" Duravanes. I have found that the spinning the offset creates stabilizes the arrow much better. Think of a football. Originally my arrows came with a straight fletched Duravane (0 degrees) by re fletching with the 4 degree offset I tightened my broad head groups significantly. Especially at longer distances. At 40 yards off of a monopod I have put consecutive arrows in the same hole. When I am really on "my game" and do my part. Just something to consider when you go to buy your clamp. The Excalibur forum is another great forum. There is a wealth of crossbow information and it is filled with terrific people that are willing to share their knowledge. Just like here www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2/index.phpHere is the link: Bob

Howdy Bob. Are you using a straight clamp or a right helical clamp for the blazers. Thanks for the tips. Joe
