30"...thats why I asked. keep in mind that trad bows are generally spec'd at 28"....so your going to be drawing heavier than that with bows that fall in that grade. @30"...I would suggest starting you search at nothing over 45#@28" SMJ is correct in saying go to the longer ATA. Most commercial jobs start stacking quickly past their spec. and the longer the ATA, the less pronounced it generally is. The PSE line is pretty mushy and should serve pretty well to accommodate that longer draw length. Martin is pretty darn mushy now-a-days as well....the ones I have drawn. The Bear starts getting pretty firm but I am not sure if it would be too harsh at 30".
As you said....trying a bunch is the way to go. A recurve is a very personal fit....not at all like a compound.

"I dont personally know of anyone who can shoot a heavier recurve than me and I shoot 70# when I want to.".................HMMmmm...... Forgot me already BT? I shoot more than that every day lol, lol.
first... stay away from the heavy Howatt with your long draw, I have a super diablo, was a nice one, previous owner had a 28" draw, it worked great for him, folded up on me in short order(limb delam-glue line)...I have a 30" draw too. second....these knowledgable fellas gave you some great advise, drop your weight expectations down to 45-50@28.which will be 51-56@30.... You use muscles differently to shoot a trad bow, it will take them awhile to get aclimated to your new toy.. go slow! Third, the best ,most affordable bow I have found for a long draw is a mid 70's Bear Kodiak hunter, with the same era bear grizzly a close second, I have both, and they are smooth, stable, have no handshock, no finger pinch... and the grip feels real nice, they can be had on ebay for less than $150 and shoot like bows that cost much, much more. and last but not least... you did good coming here and asking for advise and some really great advise has been given, but it's truly up to you what you shoot and why, we are all different, and have different preferences, we can point you in the right direction and get you started, and give you advise till your ears fall off, but if you are not comfortable your not going to be happy with your shooting or progress................................Steve

Well BT, Mr. Murphy and his funky law has come to visit us this winter, we've had 2 fires, 1 in the house,(very little damage-smoke) 1 in the shop which took out my circuit box and wiring, then a week later we had a heck of an ice storm, which brought down a big mulberry right on the shop, which now leaks like a sieve when I get it warmed up,so I shut it down till spring when I can get a new roof on....then my lovely wife trashed her car and now she's driving my explorer, (which brings up a little observation... women are hell on hot rods and 4wd's!) but in a week the vehicle situation will get a little better as next friday is her last day before her indefinate layoff....oh and my computer fried ..Twice... now I have a new one........so where have I been?....Right here, teaching myself blues guitar... really!

yea BT, but sometimes you just need to look on the bright side, I'll never have to work on that poor excuse for a car again, I have new wiring, I'll have a new roof before long, my wife can now paint a few rooms the colors she likes when the weather breaks(latex paint makes me real sick), my hot rod will become my daily driver(yippeee!!) my oldest daughter just got moved into her new home, and my now eldest son has started a new life in Alabama, and I am learning to play the guitar, which is something I've wanted to do since I was a kid, just seemes like the perfect time!.. and my 12 year old daughter is an honor student, see it takes more than a little muphy's law to keep us down.We traditional archers are a hearty bunch!

Thanks all of y'all for the advise. I knew this was the right place to come. Thanks Steve specifically for the heads up on the Howatt. You also answered my other question about the weight difference drawing a 28" to 30". Never got to ask it because I've been busy and only able to pop on and off but it was answered nonetheless. I have been looking an Ebay and looking at new bows too. I just don't know enough about trad to know what I'm getting in a used bow. If I find one on ebay, I will post a link to it here to get y'alls opinions on it (the best that can be done looking at it on a website.)lol. I will probably go with used to start out though, that way if I found out it's not for me, then I haven't lost much. New trad bows I've looked at are priced like most compounds I've seen.
Keep the tid bit's coming, y'all. It's being a big help.
I was at the bowshop today and he doesn't have any trad bows in stock but he has a couple and has friends that shoot them. He is working on getting a local 3-D tourney or league going and some of them will be getting together soon so he told me he would let me know when and I could come try out some different rigs.
