Went to a friend today to ask about traditional bows.He shoots a long bow now.I walked out after a great talk with a 43# Wing recurve to play with. Also a copy of Traditional bowhunter and 3 Rivers Archery catilog.I had to try it out this afternoon and was at least smart enough to be 10 yards from my target Wow did I suck .I had very little control of the situation.I was using a regular glove and my Beman arrows with 2"blazers.After 3 shots I figured somthing was wrong .I am begining to think you have to shoot feathers .Is that correct???

You will like feathers a lot. If you like, there are several books that might help you out - let me know if you need suggestions. Anything we can help with, for that matter! Keep shooting!!!

Once you start it will be hard to stop. I picked up an older bear recurve to play with. Then I found a wing recurve that I had to have. Then came the Toelke Whip long bow. Don't hardly shoot the compound anymore.

I need to pick up a shooting glove and some arrows.I got rid of all my things but they were old and outdated. I'm sure it's like rideing a bike I should pick it up fast with the right equipment.

Yes, sir. However, don't push to hard and be ready to think about form and consistency again! I still hold that compounds, due to the nature of the setup, tend to make form and consistency more of a natural happening. I mean, if you get off your lineup in any major way, it can get hard to use the sights. You always draw back the same as the bow provides a nice valley to rest in... Traditional takes all of that away and requires that you over-see each shot from your feet to the top of your head. Nothing is free, if you will, and shooting fingers can be cruel after much time spent with the release!!! ;D Keep us posted how it goes for you, and let us know if we can help!

Does that dvd deal with form issues? Not so much...only what pertains to the shooting hand and positioning.
