I'm not sure of this but I'll through it out there anyway. Is it possible to be shooting better at 40 yds than 20? Ever since I put on the Ripcord rest my 40 yard shots have been much better. Lately I think my 40 yd groops are almost as good as my 20.I have been trying to figuer out if its the bow?.Or if its the arrows.Or if it's the .29 sight covers my 4-5 in bull better.Or if I can't see the arrows grouping as well from that distance. One thing I know is I hate my red pin, like the green and love the yellow. The 40 yd. pin is yellow.Or could it just be me having a good day and different light conditions Or all the above ;D

I'm the same way with that red pin! My 40 was a yellow on an older sight, and I felt that it helped me acquire the target better. Also, as the distance increases...two things happen..one is that you take a little more time, and focus more. Two, is that your right..you can't see where your hitting, and that prevents you from compensating (unknowingly)..like you might tend to do at 20...JMHO...

subconsciously, you may not be trying/focusing hard enough at 20 yards (supposed slam dunk ).....also at 20yds, your point of aim should be appropriate for that distance, like the size of a quarter. DIaling in, i shoot 5-spot blue face targets out to 30 yards to keep from ruining arrows. The spot is small and you tend to focus more and aim well. At 40yds and beyound, I flip the target and shoot the single bull. Helps me, R

Have you got out the powder or lipstick and checked for fletch contact? Noticing a change as soon as you changed rests suggests to me you were shooting better before. Contact arrows stabilize down range and the group can then tighten up. Also why not swap pins and put the red pin where it bothers you less? Red tends to be a blurry dark pin for me.
