Well I finally got a pic of my dad’s deer. This is only the 3rd deer he has ever shot with an arrow. The first on was back in 1968 (38 years ago) He used a recurve and a wooden arrow. Three years ago he got a crossbow and got his first deer with modern equip. Last Sunday he shot this doe. He was in a ground blind and the deer was only 10 yards away. The deer was facing him (he still thinks this crossbow is a rifle.) I have told him to avoid such shots but at 72 years of age, he quit listening to my advise years ago. This was obvious when I asked to see the bolt that he used to shoot the deer with. He handed me a bolt with a Muzzy practice point. (The unsharpened ones) I said “you didn’t use this on a deer did you?” He said “I thought they were awful dull” I shook my head and asked “how deep did the arrow go into the deer?” He said that it buried itself up to the fletch (which is 17 inched for his bolt). This just goes to show you that even if you do everything wrong, you can still get a deer with a bow if you poke a hole in the lungs. Here he is wearing what he considers “Hunting clothes” This is a Muzzy practice head that he used.

Now BT has to test the Muzzy practice head I wonder how it would do, surely it wouldn't pass the rubber band test but the rest who knows... ;D
