I would have to say I enjoy seeing the sun come up instead of going down. I then know I have all day to get that big one.

The timber seems alot more still in the afternoon/evening, And over the past 18yrs of hunting, 2/3rds of my deer killed have been in the evening. All three of my p/y's have been shot in the mornings though. Here is a great tip, if you want to shoot big bucks hunt around river bottoms, because " bucks always have wet hooves". If you think i'm wrong start paying attention, your buck will have wet feet, I promise.

Most of the mature bucks I've killed have been before 8:00 am.
However, I have killed a lot more deer of an evening... does and small bucks.

I went back to my journals for the last 2 years to check for certain. In 2004 I saw deer 50% of the mornings, and 60% of the afternoons that I went out. 3 of the 4 deer I shot were in the afternoon.
In 2005 I saw deer 48% of the mornings, and 64% of the afternoons. All 3 deer I shot were in the afternoon. So far this year mornings have been better than afternoons, and the one deer I have shot was in the morning. So for me, it appears to be fairly balanced, but since I get out more in the afternoons, it is more likely that I will shoot a deer then.

O.K. so the chart is definitely off from the facts of the matter cause the afternoon spot is sitting at 0
I guess I never end up sitting in the tree during the afternoon often because the deer is already down by mid morning as a rule.

I can sit 7 mornings a week 'til about noon and only 2 afternoons a week. So I kill many more deer in the mornings but, percentage wise the afternoons might prevail.
