I thought I had asked where you lived in Florida but I guess I was only thinking it I used to live in Vero Beach and hunted the three lakes area. You know where that is cc ? I know where Vero is but have no knowledge of the Three lakes area. I hunt in Dixie County. I belong to a club of about 20,000 acres and also hunt the Lower Suwannee Wildlife Refuge. The club I'm in now likes the presence of hogs. I hate the dang things. I put in five foodplots and the pukes have already rooted up two of them.

Still working on my first. However, I have the pleasure of working with a Doc that has logged in over 1000 whitetail kills with a bow, over 100 with traditional equipment. Before you ask, YES, this guy is for real. For the first 20 years of his carrer he hunted more than he worked. He bow hunts almost exclusively, used to teach with Fred Bear, and still teaches a bow school every year. Great guy, knows more about deer hunting than any single person I know. I can only hope to catch up with him some day.

One more today. That makes 60!
I shot a Friday the 13th doe this morning. Barely doubled lunged her. Clipped the top of the left lung and the upper third of the right lung. She went about 60 yards after the shot. When I got to the spot where she was standing< could actually she where she went down. Initially I was surprised at the limited blood trail, because the arrow had blown right through her. But when I got to her I saw that both entry and exit holes were very high. Therefore not as much of a trail as you would think. However, her chest was absolutely full of blood.
I will try to post Pics of the Broadhead tomorrow. WASP Hammer SST 125.

You take a Moose with a bow and we will forgive you! Took a moose with gun 20 odd years ago. If I get another tag, week one will be with the bow. I have a co-worker willing to go call for me. She goes up and calls in Moose for the fun of it as a hobby. She is extremely good.

I've finally pass my gun kills(114) With bowkills(117). Since I mostly bowhunt now, the difference is only going to get larger. Lost count of the hogs somewhere around 700 with a bow As for the hogs, in some places they are as thick as cockroaches, but 700? That seems more like killin than huntin IMO and I would hope those were consumed by someone. I know I shot two hogs last year (a 350lb Boar and a 250lb sow) and the amount of meat from those two was staggering! We don't buy ANY meet from the grocery store and that still (along with the 3 deer i shot) lasted us exactly one year. So to kill that many, unless you were exaggerating, it's hard to see that as not being wasteful. I'm sorry if it rubbed me wrong and I'm as die hard a hunter as you'll find, but that seems excessive to me. If I pulled the trigger on every deer I could've killed, I'd have numbers pretty similar, but why? Part of where I hunt is in NW FL and 2 deer a day, but they have to be bucks unless you have a doe tag and they only issue so many of those per 1000 acres under "management". Usually one or maybe two per member. Plus the doe week is exactly that, A WEEK! So for these numbers to be correct, you've basically extremely exaggerated or have killed basically every buck (regardless of age, rack, maturity etc) that walked in your path unless you're really up there in age and have some of the best luck known to man. No offense man, but no wonder the deer herd in FL sucks...

Back to the original question. This is my first year hunting with a crossbow and no kills yet. But with my gun I've killed about 30 in the 10 years I've been hunting. Hopefully I get that first one this season. As for my best deer, here he is... ten point, scored 140 flat, taken in Wilcox County, AL

For instance....Pest control & Hunters for the Homeless being a couple that could easily take those numbers into their fold. I would consider either to hunting since you are in the act of a hunt. Hunting can mean many things to many people and this is why some arguments tend to take hold when two different persons are talking about one subject. Kind of like religion

I kinda agree with ruger, if he did it he did it but either way how the hell and why would you keep count after 50 or so? Maybe we should specify on how many have you yourself caused the death of ;D For instance i live in upstate NY and been hunting deer with bow for 15 yrs and gun for 13 i know i have taken 25 with the bow, i counted because bow kills mean much more to me but as far as gun a have taken a additional 30 or so, i did not keep track, but i have been around around 150 kills total. 1 hog a day for 2 years straight At first when i joined this site a heard Skipmaster saying how many kills he get's i thought how does he eat all that? But--any guy who takes pics of the meat before the grill and after eats a helluva lot of meat and is totaly legit in my book.
