They do tend to quiet down the bow, and prevent your arm/wrist from getting slapped. They definitely work differently on different bows though, so maybe a Mathews owner with an STS, or equivalent could tell you for sure..

You guys might want to check this out. This thread outlines how you can build your own for like $13 bucks. maybe worth trying if you want to see if it make a difference. 13 bucks is alot better than 35 bucks.
