We actually have this choice and I am just wondering where you would choose if you had only 1 of these four choices.
Why?. _________________
Maine is sunny, real weak on jobs and high on expenses. Great Fishing and Poor Hunting
South Carolina is sunny, o.k on jobs and low on expenses. Great Hunting and Great Fishing
Michigan is Cloudy, weak on jobs and low expenses. Great Hunting and Great Fishing
Southern Ohio is sunny, weak on jobs and Average on expenses. Great Hunting and Poor Fishing

Its has alot to offer wid the Smoky Mts in its Northwest area, diff terrain choices. Not blisterin winters but the summers can get really hot. Hard to beat the fishing & the hunting fer what they offer is rather good. You ck'ed it already, i dislike shovelin snow!

I would base any relocation on overall quality of life. It looks like SC has that based on what you've said above.

SC for me too. You are only a few hours drive from some great states to hunt in without having to deal with the bitter cold for so many months.

You hit it right on the head for my thinking CC
Doegirl is worried about the pay and jobs in SC though. Any comforting insight?.

She is concerned about me. I would be somewhere between apprentice and journeyman level down there in HVAC and I would likely have to get my class licence back and drive for a lower wage.
I look at it this way... That may be true but thats the case anywhere other than the northeast.

While SC is more appealing to you I picked Southern Ohio. I can put a coat on in the winter, but can only strip down so far in the summer. There is plenty of fishing for crappie, catfish and bluegill locally and you can go to Erie or Cumberland if you want something different. I have 4 buddies in commercial HVAC and they work a lot of weekends outside of deer season. Once you pick where you want to be i am sure you will figure out how to make the job work.
