Nice pics! Any idea how this shop fairs in the contests, if they enter at all? I saw this huge contest where taxidermy shops from around the world got together to show their best work. Judges then select the "picks" of the show based on life-like quality and artistic expression. (As one person put it "Some times the dead and mounted look much better than the living...") Anyway, just curious! They have some great mounts, thanks for posting.

I'm not sure..They always have stuff outside, and it's a pretty big shop. I asked about some pricing, and they are out of their minds.. Especially since they are located in a not so well off area. I can't imagine any locals spending that kind of cash for a mount. It has to be a tourist spot. You have to pass them to get to Whiteface Mountain, or Lake Placid... Here's another..Photobucket is slow today...I'll just keep adding them as we go..

Nice pics Spiker , I agree though those prices are pretty steep IMO. I dig the Mountain lion on the rock, one of these days I'm going to get me one like it,although I'll kill it myself. Ster

The taxidermist I use is the best I have seen not to mention the price is average for this area. So he gives you an above average mount at an average price and I am very happy with his work. I have used two others to mount my deer his being the third and the quality of his is so much better. The last shoulder mount he did for me was $325 but with his cost in materials going up the buck I got this year is going to cost $375. I know of several taxidermist with prices around $450 and are not as good.

Well, I didn't think the $ was bad at all ... how much would you pay if you didn't bring in the buck to be mounted? Still well out of my reach What I really liked was the small details in the background scenes .... grass, leaves, snow, etc.
